The cup lids are made from natural wood, available in walnut and beech, featuring a cute acorn-shaped knob that embodies the essence of a natural forest. The lids are also inlaid with designs of little rabbits or squirrels, and this "inlaid" technique is a traditional Japanese craft wherein artisans carve tiny patterns on the surface of the wood and then embed shells and different colored wood pieces. Each cup lid is handcrafted by women in Iwate, making them unique.The series offers two material options: dark walnut and light beech, which are both practical and beautiful. The combination of one dark and one light lid makes them perfect to use as a pair!

Introduction: Yumekobo (夢工房)
Yumekobo is a workshop founded by women from Iwate Prefecture, Japan, dedicated to applying traditional Japanese inlay techniques to everyday life. The former head of the workshop was inspired by the mother-of-pearl work of the world heritage site in the Konjiki Temple, hoping to create practical daily items that also possess artistic value. Yumekobo focuses on wood inlay and shell inlay as its core techniques, producing a series of exquisite wooden products that showcase the essence of traditional craftsmanship. These products are not only suitable for everyday use but also reflect the artisans' meticulousness and dedication. All products from the workshop are handcrafted by female artisans in Iwate Prefecture, preserving traditional skills while providing job opportunities for local women, highlighting the close connection between craft and community.
